Automation & channels
Handle support email in the Chatisto inbox: forward to your Chatisto address or connect your own mailbox over IMAP/SMTP, with AI-drafted replies.
Chatisto turns support emails into conversations in the same inbox as your chats. Set it up in Settings → Integrations.
Option 1: Forwarding address (2 minutes)
Every workspace has its own address, shown under Email Integration:
customer-support--<your-public-key>@chatisto.email
Set up automatic forwarding from your support mailbox (e.g. support@yourcompany.com) to this address. Each email creates a conversation, and replies in the same thread are grouped together.
Option 2: Your own mailbox (IMAP/SMTP)
Connect your mailbox so Chatisto both receives and sends from your own address. Click Add Email Account and fill in:
- Email Provider: choose a preset, or Custom.
- IMAP Settings (Incoming): host, port, username, password.
- SMTP Settings (Outgoing): host, port, username, password.
- Encryption: SSL or TLS.
- Fetch Interval: how often to check for new mail, 1 to 60 minutes (default 5).
- Display Name (optional): e.g. "Acme Support".
Click Test Connection before saving. Passwords are stored encrypted. Drafts, spam and trash folders are skipped.
For Gmail and Microsoft 365, use an app password, not your normal password.
Replying
Open the email conversation, click Reply, and choose the Send From account. If you don't choose one, Chatisto sends through its own email service.
For each incoming email, Chatisto prepares an AI draft using your knowledge base and the email scenario. Review it, edit if needed, and send. Nothing is sent to the customer without you.
Email scenario
Emails follow their own scenario under Scenario → Email. If you don't create one, the web scenario is used. Use Duplicate from Web Scenario as a starting point.
