Customize the widget

Match the Chatisto chat widget to your brand: colors, header style, size, texts, required contact details and auto-open behavior.

All widget settings live in Settings → Client Settings. Changes go live on your website right away; you never need to update the snippet. The preview on the right of the settings page shows the result before you save.

Names and texts

Under Chat Widget:

  • Chatbot Name: the name visitors see on AI replies.
  • (Default) Operator Alias: the name shown for human operators who don't have their own display name.
  • Customer Alias: how the visitor is labeled in the chat.
  • Chat Window Name: the title of the chat window.
  • Operator Connected Message: shown when a human joins the conversation.
  • Closing Message: shown when a conversation is closed.
  • End Chat Question: the confirmation visitors see when they end the chat.
  • New Chat Button: label of the button that starts a new conversation.

Behavior

  • Open Window Automatically: opens the chat when the page loads. Good for a dedicated support page, but usually too pushy site-wide.
  • Require Email and Name: visitors must enter their name and email before chatting. You can rename the fields with Name Label and Email Label. This helps you follow up, but it reduces the number of conversations. A softer option is to let the AI ask for the email only when it hands off to a human.
  • Use Default Initial Greeting: shows a standard welcome message. Turn it off if you design your own greeting in Scenarios.
  • Use Default Scenario Trigger: uses the first step of your web scenario as the message visitors see when they open the chat.

Page tracking

Under Tracking Settings:

  • Enable Tracking / Track Page Visits: records which pages a visitor viewed. Operators see the visitor's current page, and conversion goals depend on it.
  • Ping Interval (ms): how often the widget reports activity. Default 50,000 ms (50 seconds), allowed 1,000 to 300,000. Lower is more precise; higher sends less traffic.

Language

The widget's built-in texts (buttons, system messages, "leave a message" form) follow the visitor's browser language. Supported: English, Slovak and Japanese. Any other language falls back to English. Texts you write yourself, such as the header title, are shown exactly as you wrote them.

Placement and size from code

To render the chat inside your own page element instead of the floating bubble, use the targetElement option. See Install the widget → Loader options.
